On Thursday, October 12, 2023, 26 messengers from participating SWABA churches voted to change the name of our Association to the ARTEX Baptist Association. Since our Association is unique in the U.S.- crossing over geographical borders with churches in Texas joining us and more coming- it was believed that this name best reflects who we now are.

We are a growing association of churches in Miller, Lafayette, Hempstead, and Columbia counties in southwest Arkansas and Bowie county in northeast Texas.  We are truly better together!
